What I Believe
Written 2008, edited 1/22/11:
I'm finding that this doctrinal statement is fast becoming equal in length to a large book. This is because of all the different Bible teachings that are flooding the earth right now.
What I have written here is an abridged version I guess you can say because I'm seeing many people teach or preach some or many of the things I do but then they twist the bible in so many other areas that I doubt I would be able to clarify my position on every single one of them without making this page too long!
If you are so inclined I would recommend reading my bible messages to the left to get a clearer understanding of what I believe.
I believe because God made Himself real to me. I do not believe because I was indoctrinated into a religion. That isn't belief. That is a cult. True faith is a gift from God and is directly connected to becoming born again, which is what happened to me in 1997.
I believe that the Word of God (Greek - Hebrew Manuscripts) is the infallible Word (Logos and Rhema) of God the Creator. And I believe Jesus is this word made flesh (John 1-1:14). I believe that you must NOT add to it or take away from it.
Rev 22:18 ¶ "For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:"
Rev 22:19 "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book."
I believe that Jesus Christ was with God from the beginning and that Jesus spoke through the prophets foretelling the world of His coming to redeem mankind.
I believe that Jesus is the Jewish Messiah and Savior of the world.
I believe that Jesus was God manifest in the flesh which is synonymous as the Word of God made flesh. John 1:1-14
"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son
is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his
name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God,
The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
I believe Jesus was born of a virgin, grew up, and was put into the ministry at around 30 years old. I believe for three years He walked this earth and preached the gospel of the kingdom, healed the sick, cast out demons and was then sacrificed for our sins when He died and shed His blood on the cross at Calvary. Fulfilling the law of Sacrifices.
I believe God raised Him from the dead according to the Scriptures and that he ascended into heaven in front of 500 witnesses as stated in Scripture, and that Jesus sits on the right hand side of God and has become the Life Giving Spirit, quickening who He will with eternal life (Power to keep the Whole Word of God).
I believe that once you receive this power that much is required of us according to this verse:
King James Bible
".... For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required:...." Luke 12:43
I believe people are predestined in that God knows the end from the beginning. Paul was talking to saints of God who will have endured unto the end through the trials and tribulation, the mountain tops and the valleys of our Christian walk and have not fainted, but have continued on.
If we weren't expected to do something in order to be rewarded in the end with heaven, we would not have been given the Word of God, the instructions, the manual to learn what we must do in order to make it in.
"If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not?" Heb 12:7
Understand that the Bible is FULL of such "IFs"
John 15:14 "Ye are my friends, IF ye do whatsoever I command you."
I believe God gives the people who are called and chosen and faithful every thing they need to succeed.
However, I do believe people can choose to not listen to God, be disobedient and stop serving God, thus loose their eternal salvation. And therefore be blotted out of the lamb's book of life. Rev 3:5
God says, "MY PEOPLE ARE DESTROYED for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, ...." - Hosea 4:6
Knowledge is something that needs to be sought after through much careful study of the scriptures. It is a day to day walk that must continue until the day of our death.
Matthew 24: 13 "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." (Also Mark 13:13)
People think Salvation is a one time event and then there is nothing else for us to do after that except sit in a church pew on Sundays, maybe read the Bible a little bit, maybe talk about Calvin or Ellen G White. But God demands us to Walk with Him every day. To study the Bible (and not through some heretical study guide or some heretical theologian's commentary)
Yours in Christ,
What I find many people do is instead of preaching the power of God that we can receive through Christ, the power to keep us free from sin. They instead make excuses for sin and twist the Word of God teaching it is ok to sin, thus they turn the grace of God into lasciviousness.
My message on PERFECTION.
Accusations against me from Calvinists:
Re: "Free Will"
"For who hath resisted his will?" (Romans 9:19) Answer: Many have resisted God's will. it started in the garden of Eden and continues to this very day. of course that does not mean that if God wants something done that He wont get it done.
But saved men and women have now been loosed from the power of satan and we can now seek God and serve Him by God's grace which is His actual life within us through faith.
God chooses us but then we have to "Take up" our "cross and follow" HIM (Matt 10:38; Luke 14:27).
And choose to continue being obedient to Him for the rest of our lives. if we do this small thing God will preserve us unto His kingdom. (Joshua 24:15; Proverbs 1:29; 1:33)
"But whoso HEARKENETH unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil."
What does it mean to "Hearken"?
Answer: But whoso hearkens,
Hebrew: shama` (shaw-mah'),
to hear intelligently (often with implication of attention, obedience, etc.; causatively, to tell, etc.)
God tells us to "PUT ON" the whole armor of Christ "that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand." Ephesians 6:13
"Stand therefore..." (Do Something!) Eph 6:14
God tells us to "Seek Him" once we know He is there. God initially seeks us but then we seek Him.
"Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:" Isaiah 55:6
"Seek" Verses LINK Paul stated in Acts 17:27
"That they (all mankind) should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:"
My Answer: We are Justified through faith as the Scriptures teach us. What is faith? Faith is obedience. There's no other way to show faith. Faith isn't something stuck in our heart that stays hidden. Faith is action, substance, work. (Hebrew 11:7; James 2) Faith is a spiritual gift. it is a gift from God. "Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the WORD of God" Amen!
Faith IS God. God knows He exists. This revelation of God's reality is imparted supernaturally to our human spirit which is joined unto the Lord's Spirit.
2 Corinthians 6:1 "We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain."
Hebrews 12:15 "Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and thereby many be defiled;"
Galatians 2:21 "I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain."
Conclusion: Christ has to dwell in our hearts. If He is, there will be works. If He isn't we will be living like everyone else in the world. We will be worldly, partaking in worldly activities.
God Almighty THROUGH the prophet Ezekiel stated regarding New Covenant believers, 26 "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. 28 And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God." Ezekiel 36:26-28
Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."
Colossians 1:27 "To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:"
Colossians 2:9 "For in (Christ) him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily."
