Someone commented on my blog and I want to show you again how wrong the "no works" proponents are.

Hmm, well actually you quoted Revelation 20:11-15, but believers in Jesus do not appear at that judgment. That is the Great White Throne Judgment, and it is only for unbelievers, and all unbelievers fail it, because works cannot save.

So while I don't want to get into the middle of this, you did wrongly assume this was for believers in Jesus, but it is only for unbelievers.

John 5:24, believe in Jesus to avoid the judgment. The judgment to avoid, is the Great White Throne Judgment.

You said, "John 5:24, believe in Jesus to avoid the judgment. The judgment to avoid, is the Great White Throne Judgment."

The verse reads,

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."

First off, who are those that hear His words? Those who listen and are obedient. Otherwise how can you tell you have heard?

Right there is one instance of works the Lord demands.

Then He states, "..and believeth on him that sent me.."

What is believing? If you believe that you will get hit by a car if you cross a busy street blindfolded you will not do it then. That is again proving works are necessary. Because God gives us many such warnings and instructions.

Then you actually add to the bible and twist the verse and say that the verse doesn't say you will be judged. That verse doesn't say that!

What needs to happen, and this is how a Christian will avoid the Great White Throne is that we are to judge ourselves now by God's word. And then as Paul stated, "For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged." 1 Cor 11:31

Thus the Bible teaches us that works, the act of judging ourselves and reproving ourselves, that WORK will allow us to escape judgment. So we actually don't escape judgment because Judgment is NOW. We judge ourselves NOW and make sure we line up with the Word of God or we WILL be judged at the end when it will be too late. And that goes back to the verses I quoted from Matt.

Thank you for provoking me into writing this. This always happens when I'm harassed like this and for that I thank you.

I need to add that the "works" we do as Christians is only Christ "working" through us. It is a partnership. "Can two walk together, except they be agreed?" Amos 3:3 and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; Isaiah 64:6 Jesus is the Lord OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS Jer 23:6, 33:16

Christ said we can do NOTHING without Him (John 15:5). Grace is God's life in us. And faith in this is us understanding the reality of that fact! We are saved by Grace through Faith. And that faith and grace is a gift from God. it's all the Lord's glory. But we can do as Johah did and run away from the Lord. Yes we can! But what happened to Jonah? He received a revelation of hell and he repented. "I went down to the bottoms of the mountains; the earth with her bars was about me for ever:" Jonah 2:6

"The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." Rev 4:10, 11

Victory In Jesus

You can be saved!

God loves the people in the world so much that He came down to die for us. If God is opening your heart to His message and you feel convicted for your sins which have separated you from a holy God and you feel the need to be forgiven, then say this prayer. This is how I was powerfully converted to the Christ in 1997!

Say, "My Lord and my God, have mercy on me, a sinner. I believe Jesus the Christ died on the cross and shed His precious blood for the forgiveness of all my sins. I believe Jesus raised from the dead and ascended into heaven and is now on the right-hand side of God listening to this prayer. I open up the door of my heart and I invite You in, Lord Jesus. Thank you, God, for saving my soul and I vow to serve you with all my heart which is the first and greatest commandment. Amen."
